Mediterranean Diving Show Addresses the Present and Future of Underwater Activities at its Professional Technical Conferences at Fira de Cornellà, March 13–15
The leading event for diving enthusiasts will feature a heated pool for first-time dives and freediving workshops aimed at younger participants.
The Professional Technical Conferences and introductory diving experiences for children aged 8 and over will once again be two of the main attractions of the 26th edition of the fair at Fira de Cornellà, taking place from March 13 to 15. Mediterranean Diving Show 2026 will complement its wide exhibition offering with a comprehensive program of parallel activities designed both for industry professionals and for enthusiasts of the underwater world. Among them are a new edition of the Professional Technical Conferences, with an extensive program of specialized talks, and the activities held in the heated pool installed at the venue, one of the most dynamic and participatory spaces at the show.
Conferences to Analyze the Present and Future of the Sector
Over the three days of the fair, the conference hall will host various talks and presentations organized by entities, organizations, and companies linked to diving. The Professional Technical Conferences will address topics ranging from technical aspects of diving to marine conservation, underwater exploration, diving tourism, and the socioeconomic analysis of the sector.
Friday’s program will include talks on diving equipment design, the use of rebreathers in cave diving, and the role of the Diving Area of the Royal Spanish Naval League. Solidarity initiatives such as Swim for ELA and environmental awareness projects such as the Pescafils initiative for the conservation of the seabed will also be presented, as well as the talk “Beyond Barriers: Stories of Diving and Overcoming Challenges.” In addition, data will be presented on the socioeconomic dimension of the recreational maritime activities sector in Catalonia.
Saturday will be particularly focused on outreach and international destinations, with presentations on locations such as Indonesia, Anilao, and Baja California Sur, as well as talks on underwater photography and video applied to marine conservation. The day will conclude with the PADI Member Forum, a meeting space for professionals and diving centers.
Sunday will focus on the current situation of the sector in Catalonia, with a session dedicated to the future of FECDAS and the federation’s annual recognition ceremony, as well as the presentation of a book about sharks by Claudio Barría.
The Heated Pool: First Experiences Underwater
Alongside the conferences, the heated pool installed at the venue will once again be one of the most active areas of the Mediterranean Diving Show. Throughout the weekend, introductory diving experiences will be offered for children aged 8 and over, always accompanied by professional instructors.
These first underwater experiences, organized by the Club Esportiu Mosaik Sub, will allow younger participants to discover the world of diving in a safe and controlled environment.
On Saturday at around 12 noon, a special freediving introductory activity will also take place, including basic breathing and relaxation techniques, organized by Club La Caretta and FECDAS.
With these activities, the Mediterranean Diving Show reaffirms its educational and outreach mission, offering visitors not only a showcase of the sector’s latest developments but also the opportunity to learn, experience, and approach the underwater world in a practical way.
